Make this giving season your most effective yet

Learn how charities can use Meta offsite donation tools to boost fundraising

Giving season is a pivotal time for charities – 40% of online revenue1 is received in December alone, underscoring the critical importance of this month for fundraising success. This surge in donations, especially in the final days of the year, presents your moment to secure vital funding, deepen donor relationships and drive your mission forwards.

Meta is here to help you maximise this opportunity with offsite donation tools.

Why Meta offsite donation tools are a game-changer for charities

Take control and build stronger relationships

Meta offsite donation tools put you in the driver's seat. Direct donors to your own website or preferred fundraising platform, engage with them directly and track donations in real time. This flexibility means that you can create customised campaigns and connect with supporters in a way that feels authentic to your organisation.

Easy to use, so you can focus on your mission

We know that your time is best spent advancing your cause – not wrestling with technology. Meta's tools are designed to be simple and intuitive, so you can spend less time on administrative tasks and more time making a difference.

Maximise your impact this giving season

With giving season just around the corner, now is the time to set up your campaigns and leverage the reach of Meta technologies. Our tools help you:

  • Expand your donor base by reaching new supporters on Facebook and Instagram
  • Re-engage existing donors with targeted outreach
  • Tap into the festive spirit and cultural moments to inspire generosity

How to get started

1. Sign up for Meta fundraising tools: Charities in the US, UK, Canada and Australia can fundraise on their own website, on Facebook and Instagram (with donations processed by PayPal Giving Fund) or both. Charities in many other countries are also eligible for offsite fundraising. Learn more here.

2. Submit your fundraiser links for review: approved links can receive features such as the Donate button, which may drive more donations. In some cases, Meta also enhances your links with trust-building features, such as showing supporters when their friends have donated.

3. Check your fundraising platform integrations: Meta recently launched new integrations with Givebutter, Bonterra DonorDrive, GivenGain, GoFundMe and GoFundMe Pro to help charities using these platforms fundraise more successfully. More than 14,000 charities around the world are already using our new partner integrations, and we hope to grow this number in the future. Early results from these partnerships are showing tremendous promise – more details here.

If you use any of our partner fundraising platforms, enable the integration to unlock features such as the donate button and progress bar on Facebook and Instagram. If you use another platform, let them know that you're interested in Meta integrations.

We are also launching a partnership with JustGiving to bring features such as the donate button to charities who use the JustGiving fundraising platform and are signed up for Meta fundraising tools.

4. Update your supporter communication strategies: we just introduced new automated thank you tools, so you can easily say thanks to supporters who share your fundraiser links. Start testing these tools to help build lasting relationships and encourage continued engagement from your supporters.

5. Create fundraisers and encourage your supporters to do the same. Around Giving Tuesday, Meta will highlight charity fundraisers – including fundraisers on partner fundraising platforms – across Facebook and Instagram to people most likely to support your cause.

Now is the time to set your charity up for success

Take advantage of Meta's offsite donation tools and integrations to reach new supporters, inspire more giving and make this giving season your most effective yet.
