Three Tips to Create Content That Helps Grow Your Business Using Facebook Business Suite

Fresh stories and posts on your Facebook and Instagram accounts let people know that the lights are on — that your business is legitimate, active and ready for new customers. So if you’re looking to power up your small business’ social media presence and show people that your digital “door” is open, we have tools to help you succeed. In the coming months, we’ll share a series of best practices to help your business thrive with the assistance of Facebook Business Suite — a free tool, announced last year, that can help you manage all of your business activity on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger from one place.1

"Keeping your content consistent, clean and simple is actually a harder task than creating the content itself,” said Neelam Gopwani, President of Vision Express. “Business Suite has made it seamless for our company to pull together multiple departments doing different tasks into one cohesive app, from ads, content, posting, audience management, community management all in one."

Read on for three tips on creating content, and learn how Facebook Business Suite can make posting content easier for your business, every step of the way:

1
Plan ahead and save time.

Posting regularly helps your business stay top-of-mind for customers, so they’re more likely to think of your business when they need to purchase. It also gives you a chance to attract new customers by showing them what your business stands for and what value it can offer.

The easiest way to keep up with a regular posting schedule is to plan in advance. Schedule posts and stories, and use the Calendar feature in Facebook Business Suite to create batches of posts and stories for the upcoming week or month. Planning your content calendar in advance gives you time to focus on what matters most - running your business. To see what you have planned at a glance, use the calendar view in Business Suite to identify and fill in any gaps in your posting schedule — you can even cross-post content across Facebook and Instagram to save time.

Schedule a post, but then decide you want to make a tweak? No problem. You can go in and edit your post even if it’s already been scheduled. This helps you save time and not have to start from scratch.

You can also download the Business Suite app on iOS or Android to create posts no matter where you are. If inspiration strikes while you’re on the go, you can open the Business Suite app and create a post as a draft to post later, or schedule right from the mobile app.

2
Post when your audience is most active.

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer regarding the best time to post on Facebook and Instagram, but the Insights section in Business Suite makes it easier to figure out. Take a look at the Audience tab in Insights to understand where your Facebook and Instagram followers are located, and what timezone they’re in.

If you’ve been posting content regularly, you can also use the Content tab in Insights to look for patterns — perhaps your Facebook posts tend to get more engagement when they’re published after 5PM, or your Instagram Stories get more views on weekends. Use these learnings to post content when your audience is most active and likely to engage.

3
Post content that’s valuable to your audience.

Picture your ideal customer. What do they care about? What would they like to hear from you? Brainstorm a few ideas or explore our free Blueprint course for tips on what to post. Then you can put them to the test. Draft and schedule different types of content in Business Suite and monitor the Insights section to understand what your audience likes best. For a quick, at-a-glance view of how your content is performing, simply open up the Home screen. Use these insights to adapt your content strategy and post the content that you know your audience values most.

You’ll also want to look at the content that has performed well. Consider boosting these posts and stories; for as little as $1 you can reach more potential customers.

Now that you’ve learned how to grow your business through content, give it a try on Business Suite desktop or on the mobile app on iOS or Android. For more help creating engaging content — including a downloadable post planner — check out this guide on Facebook for Business.
