How Employer Branding and

Facebook Business Suite Can Help You Grow Your Business

You’ve put in the work every day to run your company, establish how your business is unique and even define your company's brand. You know that hiring the right employees may be essential for the future success of your business, especially during turbulent times. But finding talent is not easy; it can take a long time to fill a role with the right person.

How would you like people to perceive your business’ workplace? What are ways you can relay your company’s culture? What tools and best practices can you use to attract applicants and communicate your employee experience? All these questions and ideas are related to a concept called employer branding.

What is Employer Branding?

Employer branding is a series of actions and approaches you can take to help convey your business’ unique points of difference to prospective and existing employees, as well as the greater community. It can help you communicate your employer brand, which is essentially your business’ reputation as a place to work.

We’re sharing tips on how to help power up your employer branding with Facebook Business Suite and other Meta technologies. Facebook Business Suite is a free tool and single destination, spanning mobile and desktop1, that lets you manage your business presence across Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. If you’re not already using Facebook Business Suite, learn more about what it is and how to get started.

Read on for tips about employer branding for your business:

1
Define Your Employer Brand

Similar to how it’s important to define your business’ brand, take some time to think about how to describe your employer brand. You may want to leverage your creation story — the how and why you initially started your business — and elements like the purpose and values of your company and its culture. You can also define the tone and type of language you’re going to use in your employer branding efforts and your visual identity expressions. These elements can echo your corporate brand identity while weaving in specific, relevant employer branding-related examples. Don’t be afraid to reach out to your employees, too, and involve them in the process. Also, consider tailoring your employer brand messaging for specific audiences, like those in different departments like marketing, sales and so on.

2
Create Consistent and Authentic Content

Creating consistent and authentic content is essential and helps people get to know who you are as a company. Prospective employees like to understand this, and customers are increasingly interested in learning about what a company may be like as an employer. Remember, when you create content, plan ahead of time what you want to say and bring in others for feedback. Consider auditing your current content related to employer branding to get a sense if there’s consistency in how your business presents itself to prospects.

Job postings are an especially great way to express your employer brand. Let your company’s distinct personality shine through in the language you use and how you describe the role and its responsibilities. Within the Facebook Business Suite app, you can create and manage job listings and communicate directly with potential candidates using the Inbox in Business Suite.

3
Leverage Social Media

You may currently think of social media as a way to promote your business to customers, but you can use these same channels to attract prospective employees. Consider dedicating a portion of your social posts to employer branding.

Take some time to map out your social media employer branding strategy and content calendar in Facebook Business Suite. Create a mix of posts and stories with more holistic goals, like illuminating your company’s culture, and content that focuses on the short term, like hiring for specific positions.

4
Be Creative

Go to the Business Apps section of Facebook Business Suite and select tools that can help you level up the design of your posts. Maybe some of your posts highlight current employees, which can help bring your company culture to life. Consider hosting an event for prospective employees to help answer their questions or share best practices about searching for a job in your company’s industry. Within the Facebook Business Suite app, you can create such events with Facebook Live.

The easiest way to keep up with a regular posting schedule is to plan in advance. Use the Calendar feature in Facebook Business Suite to help create and schedule batches of posts and stories for the upcoming week or month. You’ll be on your way to communicating your employer brand in no time.
